Today is Monday, April 16th and we are currently at Ocean Marine in Portsmouth, VA having been hauled here on Saturday by Boat U.S. Mike left with the boat at 8:00 AM for what turned out to be an 8 hour trip. Even though he had no power and was completely under tow, he said he enjoyed being out on the water again after such a long time. I went to breakfast at the marina and then took a couple of ladies shopping and to lunch. After taking them back to the marina, I drove over to meet Mike. What should have been about 1 - 1 1/2 hours turned out to be a lot longer as they were doing work on one of the tunnels and it was bumper-to-bumper traffic for quite a while.
I had to drive back to Williamsburg this morning for another injection in my knee and thank goodness for the GPS!
We have been informed that we'll be towed in the morning over to the yard to remove what's left of the engine and it will be examined by the surveyors at that time. Then we'll be hauled back to this spot in the marina until another day or two before they can install the new engine. This is a long process and will take most of this week and possibly into next week. We're still praying that the insurance company will cover some of this expense. Tomorrow is Mike's birthday and it sure would be a great birthday gift if they would!
The weather has turned warm and after being in the covered dock all winter, it's kind of nice being out in the sunshine. I'll just be glad to get on with this trip which should be in early May.
