Year 2 Day 62 - Oxford, Md

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY TO EVERYONE!!

I forgot to mention the other day that there's a place here called the Robert Morris Inn which is very quaint.  They have a restaurant as well as a tavern so we decided to have a drink there.  This is the very tavern where James A. Mitchner wrote part of his book Chesapeake.  I love little historical tidbits like that.

Today is Sunday, May 27th and we rented a car and have been exploring the area.  Yesterday and today we went to the very touristy St. Michaels, Md.  We were going to stop there at the marina but somebody told us about Oxford which is how we ended up here.  Since we have bow thruster problems, it's a good thing we are here as they have a boatyard who can repair it.

We drove to Tilghman Island which is past St. Michaels and took this photo of Knapps Narrows which is where we'll be cutting through from the Choptank River back into the Chesapeake Bay.  Tilghman Island which was named after the man who was an attache to George Washington.

Tomorrow we'll probably drive to Cambridge to check out that town and Tuesday morning we'll be moving the boat over to Bachelors Point to that boatyard for repairs.
